By accessing or using our website and services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

- You agree to use our services for lawful purposes only
- Our website and its forms are not available in every country, and we may limit access from some regions for the safety of the people we serve
- If you are given administrator access, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential
- Our services are not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors
Use of Our Website
Our website is provided for informational and ministry purposes. You may use our website to learn about our mission, make donations, and engage with our content.
You agree NOT to:
- • Use our services for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
- • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- • Interfere with or disrupt our website or services
- • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or harmful content
- • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Donations and Payments
When you make a donation through our website, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- All donations are voluntary and made with charitable intent
- Donations are generally non-refundable unless required by law
- You will receive a written receipt for your gift once we have received and recorded it
- If you believe you gave in error, contact us right away and we will review your request. Refunds are at our discretion, except where the law requires otherwise
- Funds will be used to support our ministry activities
Tax Information: PEMUSA is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 99-4045706). No goods or services are provided in exchange for donations. Gifts may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and only the amount of your gift counts, not any processing fee. For gifts of stock, property, or cryptocurrency, our receipt describes the item but does not state its value; you are responsible for determining its fair market value. Please consult your tax advisor for specific guidance.
Payment Processing:
- You can give through Square (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay), Venmo, Zelle, or a mailed check
- Card and app payment information is processed and stored by these providers, not by us
- Recurring donations can be managed directly through your payment provider. For donations made via Square, Square is responsible for notifying you of upcoming payments and managing cancellations. You may also cancel through Square at any time. If you need assistance, you may contact us and we will help facilitate the process.
- You agree to the terms and conditions of the payment provider you choose
- Payment disputes should be directed to the respective payment provider
Venmo and Zelle Payments:
- • Venmo and Zelle are peer-to-peer services run by other companies. You send the payment yourself from your own account, and their terms apply to it.
- • These payments are generally immediate and usually cannot be reversed, so check the recipient name and amount before you send. We will never ask you to send a gift to a different account or email address than the one shown on our Give Today pages.
- • Please also complete our donation form so that we can match your payment and send your receipt. A gift is recorded only after we confirm we have received it.
Processing Fees
Payment processors charge transaction fees for secure payment processing:
Our Processing Fee Policy
When you give by card through Square, the card processing fee is added to your total so that 100% of your intended gift reaches our ministry. We do not add a fee to Venmo, Zelle, or check gifts.
Processing fees are not tax-deductible, and your receipt shows only the amount of your gift. Fee rates may vary by payment processor.
Third-Party Sites and Services
Our website links to, and in some places embeds, services run by other companies, including Square, Venmo, Zelle, YouTube, and Facebook. When you follow a link or open one of these services, you leave our website.
- • Those sites are not owned or controlled by PEMUSA. Their terms and privacy policies apply, and we encourage you to read them.
- • To the fullest extent permitted by law, PEMUSA is not responsible for the content, security, availability, or practices of third-party sites and services, or for losses that result from your use of them.
- • A link to a third-party site is not an endorsement of it.
Email Communications
We send our newsletter only to people who have asked for it. People who sign up on this website confirm their address through a link we email to them; a few are added by our staff at their own request. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link that works in one click, and we also honor requests sent to info@pemusa.org. Unsubscribing stops newsletters; we will still send receipts and confirmations for gifts you make.
Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of PEMUSA or our content suppliers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You May:

- • Print content for personal use
You May Not:
- • Reproduce content for commercial use
- • Modify or create derivative works
- • Remove copyright notices
Disclaimer of Warranties
Our website and services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding:
- The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of content
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation of our services
- The security of data transmission over the internet
- The results obtained from using our services
Important: To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
Security and Administrative Access
To protect our ministry operations and donor information, we maintain strict security measures for administrative access to our systems.
Administrator Responsibilities:
- Maintain secure login credentials and never share administrative access
- Immediately report any suspected security breaches or unauthorized access
- Use administrative access only for legitimate ministry business purposes
- Acknowledge that all administrative activities are monitored and logged
Security Monitoring Notice:
This applies to every staff member, volunteer, or contractor who is given administrator access. By signing in to administrative functions, you acknowledge and consent to the following security measures:
- • All login attempts are logged with timestamps and approximate location (country and region, worked out from the IP address; never GPS or device location)
- • Device information and browser details are recorded, and IP addresses are stored only in hashed form
- • Suspicious activities trigger automated risk assessments
- • Security logs are deleted automatically after 90 days and are seen only by authorized security personnel
- • Unusual access patterns may result in account security reviews
This monitoring is essential for protecting donor data and ministry operations. All data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall PEMUSA, its officers, directors, employees, or agents be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance of our services due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters, acts of God, or severe weather conditions
- Government actions, laws, or regulations
- Internet service disruptions or payment processor outages
- Acts of terrorism, war, or civil unrest
During such events, we will make reasonable efforts to restore services and communicate with our donors about any impacts to our ministry operations.
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, or larger text. We build and check our pages against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. If something on the site is hard for you to use, or you would rather give, sign up for an event, or reach us another way, email info@pemusa.org and we will help and fix the problem.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on our website with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Illinois.
